Daily Duties at First Student, Inc.:
Directed daily operations for this transportation company serving 15 school districts and thousands of pupils. Oversaw route planning, employee and bus scheduling, driver and staff management, as well as A/P, A/R, GL, payroll, facilities, and proactively managed human resources requirements to maintain high morale and lower employee turnover. Interfaced with superintendents, community leaders, parents, and other relevant parties to continually improve operations and meet ongoing client needs. Successfully coordinated hiring and training of new school bus drivers, and maintained critical personnel records to ensure full compliance with company and DOT regulations to maximize safety of passengers. Managed the facility maintenance of the location and preventative maintenance program for entire fleet of buses, ensuring safety operations and lowering both short and long-term costs. Drove planning and execution consolidating 2 locations into a single, highly efficient operation with 120 buses and 130 employees.
