Daily Duties at Black & Decker:

Responsible for package design which includes following brand guidelines, working with engineers on die-line templates, making mock ups, editing photographs, preflighting files, working with printers in other countries, picking up other people's jobs in the middle and correcting and completing them, sending jobs out for translation, updating packaging to include translations, designing master cartons for shipping, maintaining the production flow for each project (passes through 8 people's hands for sign off), printing oversize proofs, maintaining paperwork for each pass on each project. I am also responsible for creating innovative PR pieces for new items, marketing and merchandising materials such as end caps, posters, stickers and banners. Generally I am given several projects a day with less than a 24 hour turnaround for each.

What they like about Black & Decker:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
