Daily Duties at Nys Office For People With Developmental Disability :
Works with Developmentally disabled individuals with both mental and multiple medical conditions and behavioral issues •Coordinates nursing services for more than 50 patients • Provide direct nursing supervision for 22 registered nurses and indirect supervision for 33 non-clinical staff. •Participates in the development of the organization’s health policy and procedure related to nursing. •Ensures ongoing implementation of facility policies and procedures. Teaches appropriate nursing techniques and evaluates staff to ensure competency. •Initiates and conduct special investigations, •Schedules nurses and staff to ensure that the units and the group homes are adequately staffed on daily and monthly bases. •Reviews individuals (patients) medical record for compliance with agency practice and protocols. •Develops nursing care plans based on the individual’s needs, nursing/ medical needs and diagnosis. •Develops plans for correcting deficiencies, develop and conduct initial and ongoing in-service staff training of old and newly developed policies. •A member of the mortality and morbidity committee •Conduct interviews to hire new registered nurses.
