Daily Duties at Biola University:

Coordinate faculty schedules and course loads Working with department budgets Provide perspective of the biological sciences on university wide issues. Coordinate with other department chairs Seek out and hire full and part time faculty (5 full time faculty and several adjunct instructors hired) Development of current and new academic programs Currently in the process of getting state approval for a newly developed proposal in process, clinical laboratory scientist [CLS] program with a new concentration of Biological Sciences: biological chemistry Develop and teach courses in: General Biology for majors, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology Laboratory, Genetics and Genetics Laboratory, Developmental Biology, and Microbiology, Immunology and Virology. Perform certain extra academic duties as required of a full time faculty member and chair including: developing an undergraduate research program [aging studies in Caenorabditis elegans], serving on the General Education Council, Course Evaluation Committee (chair), Faculty Personnel Committee, and Biological Sciences department chair Spring 2005-Spring 2017.
