Daily Duties at Amgen Inc.:

• Project co-lead of diverse team to support the discovery of a highly selective and potent JAK2 inhibitor for the treatment of hematological disorders. Worked closely with High throughput screening group and Medicinal chemistry to support lead compound identification and optimization. • Key member of team to contribute IND filing of a selective PI3K delta inhibitor, AMG319, for therapeutic use in B cell lymphomas. Responsible for mechanism of action study of AMG319 synergized with other chemo drugs. Identified key cell cycle check point kinases responsible for underlying molecular mechanisms for synergistic effects of AMG319 with chemo drugs on enhanced proliferation inhibition in lymphoma cells. • Lead for team studying Neuroglobin (Ngb) gene regulation with objective to pharmacologically manipulate Ngb for the indication of chemo-induced neuropathy. Developed and optimized primary hematopoietic cell-based, medium-throughput intracellular FACS staining assay to support kinase inhibitor lead identification and optimization. Discovered that Neuroglobin (Ngb) mRNA is regulated by HIF-1α via its direct binding to the 3’ HRE of Ngb and presented this novel finding at the International Hypoxia Symposium in 2011. • Lead team of five in efforts to understand pure red cell aplasia for product support; assessment of auto EPO IgG. Presented results at Conference. • Key member of team that discovered and characterized a novel human B7 related protein, B7RP1, a ligand to the co-stimulatory protein ICOS.
