Daily Duties at Delta Air Lines:

• Study, analyze and seek solutions to problems related to design, maintenance, operation, performance, modification or repair of aircraft and their components. • Departmental areas of responsibilities include passenger cabin layouts, seating, galleys, closets, partitions, lavatories and emergency equipment. • Plan, direct and control moderate- to high-risk projects associated with the modification and support of aircraft or components. • Feasibility studies and requirement document development for new systems, products or upgrades. • Support development of maintenance programs, configurations and serviceability criteria ensuring safe and legal operations. • Analyze and recommend or implement regulatory requirements. • Develop engineering, certification and operational parameters for new aircraft or component systems. • Evaluate the effects of modifications or new equipment on reliability, performance & cost. • Author, design and test prototype change orders, project plans, action item lists and presentations. • Create/revise Engineering Authorizing Documents. • Prepare reports, specifications and drawings to support certification processes. • Provide on-site/on-call technical support for prototype/production & daily line operations. • Support warranty recovery actions and fulfills customer contract requirements. • Additionally, specific assignments may include project management, travel, team building, report writing, studying and evaluating the acquisition of new aircraft into the fleet, vendor management and industry meetings. • Managing different corporate projects as assigned by Manager. • Responsible for configuration of passenger and crew seating, cabin emergency equipment, and indirectly cabin electrical and entertainment systems. • Assisting Manager in various administrative activities, as well as providing support and guidance to project engineering staff. • Support development of industry activities and technology trends for possible implementation if directed by corporate strategy. • Support work prioritization and balancing of multiple concurrent projects within the department for better coordination and effectiveness. • Support projects affecting different internal and external organizations, including various commodity suppliers. • Support Manager with group performance metrics and work toward specific group and department goals.
