Daily Duties at Illinois Department Of Corrections:
• Chief Administrative Officer responsible for the overall operations and programs units of 1,800 bed Medium Security Prison and 400 bed Reception and Classification Unit (GCC), and 1,000 bed Minimum Security Prison with a 400 bed Work Camp and 200 bed Boot Camp (JCC), including security, health care, maintenance, dietary, and program staff. • Managed a $35 million budget and over 520 personnel in over 30 reporting departments (GCC) and a $32 million budget and over 500 personnel in 25 reporting departments (JCC). • Responsible for oversight of program staff and outside contractors providing educational, vocational, counseling and substance abuse treatment services to inmates. • Responsible for promulgating and implementing all policies and procedures for each facility. • Led negotiations with local Union chapter regarding facility and personnel issues.
