Daily Duties at Metro Plus Health Plan :
I was brought on board MetroPlus to serve in the newly created Outreach Coordinator/Health Educator designation, to identify and implement strategies to enhance community education, outreach, and marketing of health education programs. I was tasked with supporting over 3,000 members by removing barriers to care. My role was that of a leader/supervisor: I supervised professional and technical staff in implementing health programs. I developed health education training materials and modules for staff members. I also created Health Education procedures and communication standards for health education. My team and I defined objectives and reached goals while enforcing HIPAA policies. I fostered cooperative partnerships with community organizations to assist the target population. My secondary responsibility was to conduct telephonic health education to our members daily. I personally assisted with coordination and making appointments, providing outreach, presentations, and marketing education for members. I was known for my excellent communication skills, the ability to simplify and educate members of complex issues in a simplified way.
