Managed the 3rd shift of a manufacturing facility that produces candy, nuts and pretzels for a company generating a 100 Million in sales. Coordinated daily operations for production, maintenance, quality, sanitation, shipping & receiving and production scheduling. Managed 5 direct reports and 100 non-union associates while directing multiple work centers and batch mixing operations. Determines work schedules and overtime, allocation of resources, which machines ran and resolved operational issues affecting throughput. • Improved production Plan performance by 5% to achieve a goal of 90%. • Implemented lean 5S manufacturing methods to streamline and synchronize work processes to improve efficiencies in seven work centers. • Distinguished line inefficiencies by conducting a time study on a bulk packaging line and submitted capital projects to correct existing bottlenecks. • Decreased minor safety incidents per month from a high of 15 to two by conducting safety huddles and bi-weekly safety audits which involved input from hourly associates.
