Daily Duties at Duval County Public Schools:

Process over 9 million vendor payments monthly. Oversee over 10 thousand valid vendors. Manages a staff of 14 personnel, AP clerks, AP Technicians, Coordinators and Admin Clerk. Prepare and monitor department budget of over $500 thousand, salaries, expenses, contracts and supplies. Process over 7 thousand purchasing card transactions per month Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments. Monitor procurement card activity for accuracy and compliance. Monitors and market accounts payable payment methods, ACH E-payable to maximize cash flow and discount. Manage, assign, oversee and audit work of technical and clerical accounting personnel. Assist with preparing the Annual Financial Report (AFR) and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Prepare general ledger entries, adjusting and closing. Prepare summary, trail balances, and related reports, schedules and statements. Analyze, audit, and review general ledgers. Account for over $1 billion in assets, 26 million vehicles; 800 million buildings, computers and equipment. Prepare and reconcile monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for fixed assets. Prepare general ledger entries, adjusting and closing. Prepare summary, trail balances, and related reports, schedules and statements. Analyze, audit, and review general ledgers. Conduct and analyze monthly depreciation run. Reconcile and move completed projects from construction in progress categories. Classify and reclassify assets within accordance of GAAP.
