Oversight of operational and clinical practice within the emergency department. Maintained complete staff competencies to assure compliance to The Joint Commission Standards of clinical practice. Maintained and forecasted a departmental budget within the acute care emergency environment. Maintained oversight of the quality of services provided. Managed the scope of service provided within the department including physician services, competency and contracts. Primary responsibilities included emergency management of all flight situations. Complied with all published safety policies and procedures. Actively participated in flight briefings, cabin safety checklists, debriefings and other procedures. Extensive working knowledge of policies, procedures and protocols related to the flight safety program. Maintained strong knowledge base in critical care practice. Stabilized and managed patients involved in air transport managing specific air medical problems in flight. Maintained and taught applicable sections of the Federal Aviation Administration regulations. Prepared aircraft environment for anticipated patient needs on the outbound trips. Possessed specific knowledge of air rescue on ground or in air high risk events while complying with FAA and OSHA requirements.
