Daily Duties at Memorial Hospital West:
• Took vital signs and recorded patients’ medical information into the EPIC • Prepared the patients for examination, assisted physician during physical exam as needed • Followed up with required tests, signs and symptoms of medication side/adverse effects informed physician about test results as needed • Checked prescriptions for special cancer medications in communication with physicians; enrolled patients into Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategies (REMS) program for certain medications. • Scanned patient documents into the EPIC • Documented the works and communications that were performed related to management of patient’s health problems • Gained experience about management of complex medical and health care problems that includes communication with insurance companies, pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, patients and their families, home health care services, other hospitals and doctors, chemotherapy treatment centers, radiotherapy and imaging centers • Gained experience in collaboration and team work
