Daily Duties at Citigroup:

- Worked with the MD to establish the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) investment banking franchise - Set up business intelligence / support services - Trained and managed a team of 3 junior bankers - Conducted sector, market and country analyses, mapped the business landscape and profiled potential clients to build an investment banking coverage plan for the region. - Designed and maintained sector coverage plans, client activity mapping and market analytics used for client acquisitions and transaction origination - Conducted client wallet sizing, segmentation and needs assessment to identify M&A and capital markets opportunities across the MENA region - Executed all M&A and capital markets transactions in the MENA ragion, acting as project manager for each transaction, coordinating the work of the client, bank’s working team and all other advisors engaged on the transaction, including lawyers, auditors and consultants. - Canvassed the market for acquisition and investment opportunities for buy side transactions - Canvased the investor universe and the corporate landscape to identify potential buyers / investors for sell side transactions - Conducted business valuation - Conducted financial analyse - Conducted credit risk analysis, drafting and regularly updating client’s credit memorandums, in conjunction with the credit department - Advised, along with the credit department and the corporate bank, on balance sheet deployment, exposure limits and the risk adjust returns of the bank’s MENA clients - Initiated and maintained relationships across the Middle East investor base. - Led the marketing of private placements and co-investments in real estate and private equity funds, raising ~$1.2bn.
