Daily Duties at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center:
Participate in the assessment of patient assisting the RN with identifying nursing diagnosis and care plan. Giving direct nursing care to assigned patients. Carry out patient care plans. Maintain an accurate and relevant record of patient care. Safely administer medication as ordered by the physician. Recognize life threatening situation and respond appropriately. Perform the following procedures: insert foley catheter, insert intravenous catheter, phlebotomy, administer, administer blood, continue to recover PTCA patients, continue to recover TEE patients, and perform 12 lead EKG. Help with positioning, draping, and skin preparation of patient. Assist circulator with preparation of surgical suite. Scrub or assist during surgical procedure. Collect and maintain record of items during and after surgery. Apply dressing as needed. Services in which I scrub or assist are: general, vascular, ENT, GYN/OB, neuro, ortho, dental, and urology.
