Daily Duties at American Red Cross:
Oversaw all aspects of blood and aphaeresis collection operations including hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining a well-qualified team, resulting in high levels of operational success. ● Orchestrated and managed over 2000+ mobile operations with zero operations issues, despite dozens of FDA, AABB and OSHA unannounced inspections; not a single write-up during tenure (a single write-up costs the ARC $5k-$30k) ● Spearheaded a focus group initiative to foster employee retention and worked closely with project managers to determine the reason for the high turnover rate; delivered a final report to a senior management team ● Built and led a staff of 15-17. Included hiring, mentoring, employee reviews, and termination as necessary. ● Introduced and implemented Lean Methodology and Six Sigma concepts and philosophies to streamline blood processing. Member of Lean Standardization Groups to enhance organizational efficiencies. ● Improved internal operations by systematizing team communication ● Member of the Safety Committee; spearheaded compliance / employee safety and closer monitoring for safety / quality, resulting in a significant reduction in accidents and injuries
