Daily Duties at Transitions Counseling And Development Center:
I Supervise all unlicensed staff; this includes group trainings, one-on-one interactions, and face-to-face supervision of client sessions. I also train staff as needed on best practices. I manage approximately 150 clients, both in the facility and in the field. I am responsible for the reassessing of all clients. This process is evolutionary due to the many changes the insurance industry places on providers. I supervise the compilation of documentation for re-authorization of all clients and often conduct peer-to-peer consultations with insurance company mental health professionals. I manage the medication management and psychiatric evaluation sessions with the staff psychiatrist. I conduct psychotherapy both in clinic and in the field; this often includes crisis counseling, particularly with new clients. If there is a need for hospitalization due to suicidal ideations, I coordinate admissions with hospitals and conduct follow-up assessments as clients re-enter treatment at the facility. I implemented the treatment team model, which facilitates continuity of services and keeps a consultation within the treatment team ongoing. I liaison with community agencies for the benefit of the clients, including advocating in court if needed and coordinating with those agencies for the benefit of the clients.
What they like about Transitions Counseling And Development Center:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
