Daily Duties at Grant County Sheriff's Office:

Served in a highly responsible and visible capacity in the protection of life and property; performed law enforcement and crime prevention work by patrolling assigned areas, answering calls for service, and investigating crimes. Made critical decisions as necessary in the field regarding emergency situations and apprehension techniques as well make arrest as necessary; interview victims, complainants, and witnesses; interrogate suspects; gather and preserve evidence; testify and present evidence in court. Served as a criminal investigator with responsibility for providing professional investigation services and assistance to support the community and the organizations within the county. Lead and participated in investigations of criminal activities. Helped to determine the scope of investigations and utilized the expertise of subject matter experts, auditors, Office of General Counsel (OGC) attorneys or other personnel in the investigative process. Planed and conducted investigations with extreme tact and discretion since premature disclosure of evidence could impede the investigation or unjustly affect the reputation of innocent persons. Thoroughly and extensively analyzed and evaluated evidence and distinguished facts from hearsay. Carefully collected evidence required to establish criminal intent and the use of search warrants, subpoenas, etc. Prepared interim and final reports of investigations.
