Daily Duties at Howad University College Of Medicine:

Managed a research laboratory and four (4) research projects which included overseeing the budget for the research projects funding, approving staff salary and attendance, managing contracts, applying for grant funding, and approving purchases. Supervised and managed a laboratory staff doctoral graduate students’ and post-doctoral fellows. This involved supervising each individual research project progress, review of al laboratory members’ written and oral communications to ensure that the material is grammatically and scientifically correct and appropriate for the intended audience, generating funding for laboratory staff salaries and research endeavors through grant applications, and providing staff conflict resolution and individual guidance. Directed the laboratory staff research project direction to assure the overall objectives are met. Developed updates of protocols and guidance of the regulations and policies that govern the research endeavors. Developed, managed, conducted, and maintained multiple research programs and projects. Managed, developed and performed Quality Assurance procedures. Maintained current knowledge of developments in scientific fields related to my research programs in order to assess the appropriate direction, importance, and relevance of the conducted research with the updated trends. Performed research and evaluated and interpreted scientific data. Provided scientific knowledge of drugs/toxins and pesticides (chemicals) fate, transport, exposure data, and their potential to promote harm to humans, animals, and the environment to ensure safety standards for the States agriculture population. Advised government agencies on scientifically sound funding activities for agriculture innovative sustainability testing with minimal pesticide use. Taught and performed research experimentations used to examine diseased, infected, or toxic biological conditions which involves microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and physical science research technology. Taught pharmacology and toxicology to Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant, and Graduate students. Directed the Pharmacology/Toxicology course for the Physician Assistant program. Utilized and taught statistical methods for scientific modeling and analysis of scientific data. Organized meetings that discussed scientific research and/or advancement of scientific programs. Recruited, reviewed and approved/denied applicants for the Department of Pharmacology Doctorate program. Written manuscripts of research results for peer-review journal publications. Prepared and written grant applications. Served as a reviewer for scientific journals which involved writing an evaluation report and summary statement as part of the peer-review publishing acceptance/denial process. Developed and wrote departmental brochures, pamphlets, and website material. Written annual reports concerning the progress of research programs and laboratory staff. Attended and presented scientific work at national scientific conferences. Delivered oral presentations at scientific conferences, meetings, and symposiums. Organized university research symposiums. Served on University and departmental Committees.
