Originally hired as a workers’ compensation associate, I worked my way up to building and leading the Firm’s Employment, Employee Benefits, and Immigration Team. Our Team served clients with advice and counsel and litigation needs throughout the State. As Team Leader: • Managed professional development of Team members, prepared performance reviews; • Developed Marketing Plan to establish relationships with new and existing clients; • Spoke throughout South Carolina working with industry groups, including the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, Certified Public Accountants, the South Carolina Real Estate Association and local SHRM groups • Provided training to human resources professionals in all industries and potential and existing client base; • One of limited number of attorneys in the State with knowledge and experience in ERISA pension and welfare plans; • Represented diverse clients from manufacturing to schools (including Charter School development), to medical offices and facilities; and • Served as outside counsel and human resources consultant on all matters relating to employment, from hiring to firing.
