Daily Duties at New York Blood Center:
Oversaw a fast-paced dynamic logistics operation consisting of the following departments: Transportation, Distribution/Hospital Services, Central Supply and Facilities, with a budget of over five million dollars • Managed staff of 35 employees in a unionized environment • Managed a two million-dollar fleet of 30 vehicles, which included buses, trucks, and vans • Performed contract administration to address high frequency of labor/management issues • Served as Step II Hearing Officer to resolve contractual and disciplinary grievances with Teamsters Union • Planned and directed facility maintenance, fire and safety operations of a 30,000 square foot facility • Developed/implemented training materials to ensure proper education and training of operations personnel • Established priorities and identified outside contract needs in the management of all Logistics departments and the facility • Responsible for production planning and inventory management of blood products • Collaborated with five regions throughout organization to ensure timely shipment of blood products to customers throughout the NJ and NY area (New Jersey, New York, Long Island and Hudson Valley) • Systems Administrator for temperature regulated storage equipment monitoring systems • Additional duties included Facility Safety Officer and Radiation Safety Officer • Promoted through a series of increasingly responsible positions to a key leadership role
