Daily Duties at Heartland:
Provided budget oversight to meet donor requirements and provided detailed financial reports with a staff of 142 personnel. Enforced the use of uniformed contracts, invitations to bid, forms, and accurate record keeping. Prepared monthly and yearly reports, statements, and projections while providing recommendations for decision making. Monitored cash, payments, wire transfers, project contracts, and procurement procedures to ensure compliance with company goals. Allocated funds for payroll and fringe benefits for the international and national staff. Introduced and executed bank reconciliation for the project; identified a $25K discrepancy. Generated, maintained, and managed all the budgets for various donors; Ensured budgets expenditures complied with the donor requirements; Prepared realignments and final financial reports to donors; Oversaw and approved all payments by cash and wire transfer; Maintained proper cash controls, and reviewed all bank reconciliations; Generated monthly financial statements and submitted to HQ on a timely basis; Reviewed policies and procedures, and recommended revision as necessary; Prepared and allocated payroll and fringe benefits for the international and national staff; Ensured the compliance with donors’ requirements; Supervised and reviewed the accounts payable, receivable, prepaid and disbursement journals; Ensured the records accuracy prior to be submitted; Contributed to policy decision, and decisions related to overall goals of heartland Alliance Haiti; Oversaw the tracking of project contracts and payments; Developed monthly cash flow projections; Managed cash request from individual offices, and preparation of cash request for HQ; Supervised and provided training to finance staff; Oversaw procurement and maintenance of centralized procurement activities; Reviewed and oversaw updates of procurement procedures; Ensured all staff use of uniform contracts, invitation to bids, and other related forms; Ensured records are accurate and updated; Prepared the month-end and year-end financial reports and the audit as well.
