Daily Duties at Ryan Company:

As the Quanta Subsidiaries, I managed, including The Ryan Company, changed and merged, I was able to build a team that had the flexibility to change with it. As we consolidated technologies between the sister companies, we modernized the environment to be flexible and work for the needs of each company. Reporting directly to the CFO made cooperation with the executive team easier. Building relationships with the business teams added a layer of ease for deploying and delivering technology they needed. This includes a custom developed field solution using an outside firm for design and development, project management solutions such as ProCore, and major upgrades to the existing ERP solution. Providing services to each company with centralized back-office services allowed us to work on projects that improved the environment for each company such as a centralized data center with a shared infrastructure, a single ITSM/Help Desk solution using ServiceDesk Plus, and one environment for Sarbanes-Oxley controls and audits. I acted as the Sr. Systems Architect and Sr. Systems Administrator for these projects. As a manager, it was my responsibility oversee the full lifecycle of my employees. I oversaw hiring on a new completely new staff to support the business, yearly assessments, any discipline as needed, and helping advance their careers. Training for the IT staff was scheduled depending on the direction they wanted to take their IT career. Providing an effective work/life balance in order to prevent burnout and high turnover. Providing the ability to move within Quanta to advance their career aided in strengthening the relationship with other Quanta groups.
