Daily Duties at Abf Freight :
Select inbound freight to be worked and assigns optimal dock location for strip. Determine manpower for yard, rail runs, and city pickups (50-250 Checkers/) needed for several shifts, and assigns strips according to priority of freight. Dispatches rail drivers for rail deliveries and pickups, receive arriving inbound shipments from city and rail, and prepare manifests for end of the line drivers and foreign drivers. Prepare Bill of Lading for hazardous material shipments. Manage four supervisors.
