Daily Duties at Revlon:

Served as managing patent attorney overseeing company’s patent department. Administered patent department budget ($500,000). Oversaw patent litigation and oppositions. Managed and hired U.S. and foreign in-house and outside counsel. Managed and prepared patent filings and prosecutions (U.S. and foreign). Assisted in trademark filings and prosecution. Managed patent agent in U.S. and two EP patent attorneys in Spain. Participated in product development and marketing strategy. Strategized and counseled R&D innovation in U.S. and Spain by helping lab to recognize new innovation as well as designing experiments to use in product claims and for filing patents. M&A work related to evaluation of patent portfolios. Managed unsolicited inventions by researching and discussing technology with R&D and marketing. Negotiated contracts and licensing, development, and nondisclosure agreements. Implemented process for requesting and storing nondisclosure agreements world-wide. Negotiated settlements for non-practicing patent entities. Set up freedom to operate clearance program and performed searches and clearances on new formulations and mechanical devices. Prepared opinions. Worked with IT on design and implementation of electronic, searchable, information-sharing attorney client-privilege platform for sharing formulas, data, patents, and freedom to operate opinions. Used LexisNexis and PatSnap as searching platforms for chemical, mechanical, medical, and business method patents.
