Daily Duties at Treatment Research Institute:

Worked exclusively with Principal Investigator to implement all aspects of a pilot study examinging the effect contingency contracting on increasing breast feeding among low-income women. My duties included recruiting participants, I attended weekly breast-feeding peer support groups to offer assistance to the lactation consultant, offered praise and suggestions and gathered assessment data. Contingent on observed breastfeeding, I delivered cash incentives to participants. In addition, I also contacted community-based organizations with the goal of increasing outreach of recruitment. I met with other Hispanic community-based organizations whose members are also clients of WIC to facilitate collaboration. Once the intervention was implemented, I collected data for assessment of breast-feeding among study participants as well as collected data on incentives that were delivered for duration of breast-feeding. I was very successful in interacting with study participants in the recruitment, assessment and as well as help with support groups. I have assisted the writing of papers describing his study as related topics for a few journals. As result of the work on this study I was able to further develop skills with, innovation, integrity, cultural sensitivity, ethics, creativity,

What they like about Treatment Research Institute:

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
