Daily Duties at Mass Dot:
Employer: Margin 5 Solution Inc, Metuchen NJ Present Client: State Department of Massachusetts (MassDOT), MA Duration: Dec 2013 – April 2018 Role: Lead Production Support\Data Architect\Data Migration. Responsibilities: Work with the development team to execute the test run in DEV\QA\UAT and monitor and provide Level 2 production support for the application batch runs. Prepare design documents, deployment plans, deploy the code in various environments. Create stored procedures, functions, SQL, scripts to automate the mundane tasks. Create Tables, Views, Constrains, Synonyms, and Sequences as per the requirement. Write and tune the complex SQL Queries. Create the cluster and non-cluster indexes to increasing the performance of queries. Monitor and manage space issues on SQL databases. Grant and revoke read, write accesses on stored procedures, functions, tables and database objects. Work on Weekly Releases and handle all the Change Controls during the releases. Maintain Log Shipping, Mirroring for disaster recovery. Leading the Migration Project. Experiencing a new role of Database Architect in Setting up Cluster MS SQL Server 2014, Also Data Migration from MS SQL server 2000/2005/2008R2 to MS SQL 2014. Extensive Experience with Clustering setup 2014 and Always On setup with two nodes failover Active\Passive. Maintaining SQL 2014 databases in SAN and Cluster Server Environment. Migration of DTS packages to higher versions of SSIS MS 2014. Manage Physical and Virtual environments for Web Based and Standalone apps Implemented the Peer to Peer Transactional Replication in DEV\QA\UAT Environments for making sure that all the environments have same data synced. Create robust Backup and Restore policies and procedures including the file backup and EMC Networker Backup. Using the Agile scrum methodologies for all the projects and extensive usage of TFS for project tracking. Work Hand in Hand with Developers for builds and releases. Promoting the code changes in DEV\QA\UAT Env. Automated the Code deployment in all Environments. Key player of client centric most matured production support model which includes service operation management, JIRA Request management, and deployment management. SQL Server updates and Patches on regular basis. Heavily Monitoring if all the Production \DEV\QA\UAT Environments on Red Gate SQL Monitoring Tool. Regularly keeping the environments with Password change policies under PCI rules. Prioritize the work along with multi-tasking and understand the need of urgency. Develop a deep understanding of the business needs and strategic directions. Responsible for directing and managing work efforts on daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review, and escalating - functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately. Create various documents like Deployment Plans on SharePoint. Defining Hardware Prerequisites for SharePoint. Helped Sharepoint migration project installing SharePoint Server 2013 application built on the SQL Server database engine. Mentoring the team with migration and development throughout Sharepoint Migration as a DBA. SPOC (Single point of contact) for major issues. Good understanding of Client (Mass Highway Department) their needs and urgencies of work to be done. Regular updating the Team with New features upgraded with all the versions of SQL Management studio also making sure changes are documented. Created Central repository of all the environments Server details with Hard copy also available handy. This helps the team members with limited permissions on server. Mentoring any new team members to make them comfortable in Environment. Team works is appreciated but if needed kick start my own work with minimal help. Working on Changes Request through CAB Approval Process. Working on Ticket Based Service called Service Now. Handling Tickets on Priority basis. Maintaining File and Networker Backup for Production. Documentation of all the changes implemented and also for Team members as a standard company policy. Maintaining the inventory as per the changes in environments. Maintaining the Master List created and managed by me for the Team. 24/7 Production supports if needed. Environment: MS SQL Server 2014/2012/2008 R2/2005, Oracle, Windows 2012/2008R2, VERITAS Net Backup,TSQL, Litespeed, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Clustering, Mirroring, Log Shipping, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0,Microsoft Office Visio 2007
