Daily Duties at National Guard Bureau Operations Group Wolf:
Serves as an advisor to the commander and staff, assists in the preparation for an executes command level inspections of subordinate units, Accomplishes or revise a verity of military HR transactions including appointments, enlistments, flagging actions, reassignment, separations, promotions, duty assignments, transfers, medical evaluations, security clearances, awards and decoration, retirements, etc., and forwards actions to a higher level military personnel office. Implements the Enlisted Promotion System at the command level. Controls the organizations medical readiness programs. Monitors the status of health assessments within the organization and ensures appropriate scheduling and completion. Provides formal and informal LOD investigations. Deals with DEERS, SRP and all other system that will help soldiers maintain readiness for MOB. Plan, organize and assign work to employees engaged in personal and administrative work assigned at the command level. Provide technical assistance and guidance to assigned employees. Revise assignments or details employees to other duties as necessary to meet changing work situations, deadlines or priorities. Budget Utilized knowledge of procedures and processes to assemble, review and maintain complex budget and financial transitions. Monitored budget and financial regulations, laws and requirements to ensure compliance and recommend action. Performed research and investigated problems or errors that required reconciling and reconstructing incomplete information. Conducted extensive and exhaustive searches for required information while performing actions of similar complexity. Developed knowledge of automated budget systems to reconcile errors that required an understanding of nonstandard procedures which enabled me to aid in the development of automated procedures for clerical operations. Acquired knowledge of extensive and diverse budget regulations, operations and procedures that govern a wide variety related transaction to resolve nonstandard transitions, complaints or discrepancies. Provided advice and performed other work that required authoritative procedural knowledge. I am responsible for receiving, reviewing, and classifying a variety of standardized and some non-standardized transactions in support of commercial service accounts for base organizations. Independently process recurring accounting documents and transactions that use different, unrelated processes, procedures, or methods based on general standing instructions. Regarding what needs to be done, the applicable policies, data and information required, and priority of assignments and deadlines. Determine the accounts involved and the debit and credit entries. Determine appropriate accounting transaction codes and ensure that enough funds have been obligated and that the totals are correct. Communicate with submitting activity and resolve questions on all the data submitted. Review files to meet suspense dates. Follow-up on unpaid commercial service documents when suspense dates are exceeded. Verify, maintain, and reconcile account balances using different procedures. Review accounts for fund availability and obligates necessary dollar amounts. Utilize documents and computer output products to ensure daily, mid-month, and end-of-month financial updates have occurred. Verify, balance, and reconcile supporting documentation files with listings and interrelated reports. Research records, reports, and schedules to identify discrepancies among accounts. Closes accounts and prepares financial documents. Close accounts applying knowledge and understanding of standardized and established accounting procedures. Provide customer service for vendors, resource advisors, financial analysts, and all other customers. Check records/files and automated accounting systems on status of payments and payment dates. Respond to customer inquiries. Provide information on specific accounting transactions and an explanation on accounting procedures. Research and resolve a variety of problems.
