Daily Duties at Sensor 21:
• Participated in the design and prototyping of optical and mid-IR Systems and Raman Spectroscopy, • Built prototype of a disposable medical endoscope using novel optical-grade plastic lenses, making this device much cheaper to manufacture than conventional endoscopes with glass lenses. • Built prototype of long-range Cassegrain-type IR sensor/tracker for the detection of atmospheric hydrocarbons and airborne chemical threats. • Built prototype of explosives dust detector using COTS components, including laser source, cold box, IR lenses and uncooled IR detector. • Wrote and submitted several solicited and unsolicited DOD research proposals and white papers on mid-IR detection and chemical fingerprinting.
