Daily Duties at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance:

I am a technology professional with extensive experience. I was part of a team (IT Infrastructure Support) that ran MassMutual’s 24/7 Data Center. As part of the IT Data Center Infrastructure Support team, my team provided level 1 & level 2 support. IT Infrastructure Support was also responsible for monitoring the health of MassMutual’s entire IT Infrastructure. Infrastructure Support was responsible for supporting multiple support groups, this included, Windows Server support, Windows Engineering, Storage Engineering, Network System Services, Network Engineering, the Cloud Computing team, Unix/Linux Engineering and the Mainframe OS team. We also provided support to multiple Applications Support teams. IT Infrastructure Support created and archived a daily report for the Data Center. This report includes details of any outage details, batch and Help Desk matrix. IT Infrastructure Support was also responsible for Incident Communication. IT Infrastructure Support also provided vendor management for hardware calls. All vendor issues were ticketed and tracked, we also created change requests tickets in conjunction with hardware call tickets. It was our responsibility to be sure that all vendor work was completed within the established SLA. IT Infrastructure Support also fielded Help Desk calls off hours, holidays and weekends. We also provided high level support for MassMutual’s Help Desk. IT Infrastructure Support also supported a remote Data Center (Barings Asset Management) located in London England from MassMutual's Data Center. My Team provided much of the same support for Barings as we did for MassMutual. Performing daily and weekly backups. Monitoring the Barings IT Infrastructure. Performing weekly maintenance for their Unix and Windows servers. Assisting the many support groups for Barings. IT Infrastructure Support was also responsible for receiving parts from multiple vendors. We tracked and inventoried all parts and equipment that was received for the Data Center. IT Infrastructure Support worked in conjunction with the Asset Management Team for the dispose and destruction of disk drives and tapes. IT Infrastructure Support participated in Disaster recovery planning and testing. Disaster recovery testing took place twice a year. Business continuity is an essential part of a healthy IT Infrastructure. DR testing provides a safe environment to test and proof DR procedures and practices.
