Daily Duties at Marin General Hospital:
As an interim permittee in the emergency room I was responsible for providing care for 3 to 4 patients at a time. I assessed patients' conditions, safety risks, and improvement during and after treatment. I used the nursing process to guide my prioritization of patient care and to create appropriate care plans. I also collaborated with members of a multidisciplinary team to provide care for critical patients with illnesses ranging from strokes, to sepsis, to STEMI's. I was responsible for many aspects of patient care ranging from hourly vital signs, medication administration including IV's and drips, assisting physicians with procedural sedation and performing patient education along with discharge instructions.
