Daily Duties at Marin General Hospital:
As a Patient Access Representative in the emergency room I was responsible for checking patients in to the EHR system, collecting basic demographic and insurance information as well securing copayments. I was also responsible for ensuring that patient understood their rights and the type of treatment they were entitled to, as well as gaining consent. In this customer service role I assisted the triage RN with obtaining the patients chief complaint and brief description of symptoms and then placed the patients in order based on severity.
