Daily Duties at Intel Corporation:

Enhance functionality of Perl Libraries. GUI visualization to enhance SystemVerilog Debug. Perl code generated an XML file for graphical visualization of an entire design for a given module. It showed the hierarchical structure of all the modules and interfaces that is part of the top level module. For a given top level module it reads the file that defines the module and identifies all the modules and interfaces instantiated in that module. It then finds the files defining those instantiated modules and interfaces and reads them to identify what modules/interfaces are instantiated in those instantiated modules and interfaces and repeats this process until all modules and interfaces that are part of this design (top level module). It creates the xml string for each valid entry which can be opened in xmind to visualize the design. It uses different colors for different levels of hierarchy and a different color for instance names. The complexity of this code is in identifying the instantiation of the modules or interfaces. Various formats are used by the coder to instantiate a module or interface. Also similar format is sometimes used to call a class or package. The script tried to capture all these formats to identify a module or interface and then confirmed from the created module or interface database. Researched on DVE and VERDI tool and find out which tool is more user friendly.
