Daily Duties at Us Dept Of State International Boundary And Water Comm.:
My duties included conducting internal compliance, performance, and financial audits on behalf of this small federal agency. I presented observations directly to the Commissioner and issued written audit reports that comport with the Generally Accepted Governmental Auditing Standards (GAGAS) as published by the Government Accountability Office (GAO). I served on the agency Audit Committee and interacted extensively with our independent auditors, and the Office of Inspector General, so as to provide preventative or corrective action recommendations to management. I hedged the risk of material weakness or significant deficiency in the annual Agency Financial Report (AFR) by evaluating agency compliance with Government Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gov. GAAP) and Federal regulations, such as those issued by the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and GAO.
