Daily Duties at Davita Rx:

• Performed quality assurance on medications dispensed from automated and manual dispensing stations using AutoMed operation system. • Performed drug database maintenance, drug equivalency and product integrity verification. • Verified prescriptions using RxExpress operation system before sending to dispensing. • Represented Dispensing Department in Professional Pharmacy Practice Committee to work on various projects to improve professional practice of the entire company by developing guidelines, procedures, and reference charts. • Developed solution to help other teams minimize time and man power in recurrent mass NDC changes on a drug that affected thousands of prescriptions by understanding the system mechanism to strategically bypass steps that resulted in turnaround time that was days faster than original procedure. • Finished projects assigned by Professional Pharmacy Practice Committee to develop multiple guidelines, Calcium Supplement Chart, rearranged hazardous drugs into separate area, along with developing safety guidelines on appropriate handling of such medications, updated system-wide drug allergy database. • Examined in details specific dispensing incidents that are reported and take appropriate actions to contact prescribers and patients to resolve and correct any disruption in patients’ therapy.
