Daily Duties at General Dynamics Land Systems:

Multiple IPT Contract Hire Positions: 07/2010-3/2011 CAD Administrator for 90+ users (Secret Clearance) • Establish Pro/Engineer WF4 CAD Methodologies To Support CAD related processes and product definition. • Support Windchill/PDMlink database, user assignments, folders, and PLM as it pertains to CAD data. • Perform/record/maintain Metrics For CAD Quality • Establish, Maintain and deliver CAD related Training Programs • Establish CAD Standards for supporting IPT activity • Model based manufacturing, Process modeling, Automated Drawing Creation • Maintain visualization standards, architecture, drawing and model formats. • Establish standards to ensure that the product model encompasses sufficient definition to support lifecycle activities (e.g. procurement, manufacturing, and support). • Evaluate, implement, and maintain software tools that support product data management and model-centric development. 08/2009-07/2010, Mechanical Engineer for the EFV Drive Train IPT (Secret Clearance) • Pro/Engineer Wildfire 4.0, Pro/Cable, Pro/Pipe, Pro/Sheet metal, Pro/Mechanism and Windchill/PDMlink. • Responsible for reducing weight in components reporting to the Driver's and Transmission Control's. • Component redesign for weight reduction efforts. Worked with the FEA IPT to optimize part structure. • Developed Pro/Mechanism assembly for the use in Driver's and Transmission Control's motion analysis. • Designed and documented test fixture to test brake link pivot locations and overall reliability of system. • Maintained and reported component mass properties related to the programs strict weight and CG requirements. • Perform root cause analysis based on EFV field reports. Worked with non-conformance reports and corrective action reports from GD's LIMA facility. Worked with DCACAS and FRACAS reports. • Wrote change proposals and presented to ECR board for funding approvals. 03/2009-08/2009, Harness System Integrator and Lead for GDLS Abrams KSA program (Secret Clearance) • Responsible for developing Abrams M1A2S (KSA) harnesses. New harness designs were based on the Abrams M1A1 and M1A2 legacy harnesses. New harnesses had branch and connector "puts and takes" determined by relocated legacy LRU's and/or redesigned LRU's. • Implemented RSD for creating parametric 2D system block diagrams and harness schematics. • Use of RSD for the export of RSD 2D data; import into Pro/Cabling to enable logical referencing of all 3D routed harnesses. 06/2008-03/2009, Harness Engineer Lead for GDAM's EFV Vetronics IPT (Secret Clearance) • Working directly under the Director of Engineering for three months to meet daily for CDR schedule status. Reported quality related issues and recommended process improvement for harness development. • Responsible for the review of harness modeling standards and best practices, vehicle interferences, and harness accuracy as related to the schematics. Included is the review of system interconnect block diagrams, schematic connectors, shielding, wire types and wire gauges. • Recommendations to optimize harness routes and branch transitions as to reduce harness weight. • Recommended cable/routing management systems. Included are clamps, cable trays and custom brackets.
