Daily Duties at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Student Center:
• Responsible for the daily opening and closing of Student Center Scheduling office. • Provided exceptional customer service to patrons of the Student Center by answering their questions about the University and the Student Center. • Screened phone calls, and provided assistance to the Scheduling Coordinator by taking care of customers request for space. Gathered contracts and documents to produce the daily schedule of events with approval from the Scheduling Coordinator. • Maintained an efficient and orderly front office area, and supervising student employees in the filing of contracts and other important documents. • Communicated with Registered Student Organization’s when they did not show up to use a space and followed up with them to ensure that the Student Center received payment of room rental when the space was not used as scheduled. • Assisted with staff coverage on weekends and evenings for various events including, weddings, Bridal Extravaganza, Holiday parties, etc. • Received, logged and processed payments using a credit card machine and the Event Management Software system.
