Daily Duties at City Of San Diego:
Participate in the development and implementation of Department-wide safety programs such as defensive driving, DOT, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fire protection, and other OSHA safety compliance programs. Advise the Department regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA & Cal OSHA), (OSHA 300 & 301 Logs) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Conduct routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of university facilities. Respond to emergency situations involving hazardous materials or fire and smoke incidents. Prepare reports of findings and submit recommendations. Analyze accident and incident reports for trends. Make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Participate in the development and implementation Department training safety programs and in formulating maintenance strategies and policies.
