Daily Duties at Basic Research:
I am responsible for Interviewing, hiring and training new buyers on internal processes and procedures. And to be able to manage manufacturers based off negotiated multilevel cost-tiered pricing, lead time, MOQ’s, quality and speed of service. Source and purchase all packaging elements for over three dozen individual products sold into retail stores and online channels. Obtain packaging to provide marketing with desired look for product presentation to retailers and product launches. Work with dozens of contract manufactures for capsules, tablets, bulk powders and packaging components. Assist R&D and QA in procuring raw materials for manufacturer’s use in meeting product specifications. Organize and arrange deliveries of products from manufacturers to arrive in conjunction with work order schedule. Reviewing Junior Buyers’ PO’s and negotiations. Oversee all billing and invoicing discrepancies with manufactures. Responsible for analyzing the Operations department $30 million COGS expenditures. Present achievements, search for areas of inefficiencies, develop goals and implement plans to improve efficiencies to reduce COGS.
