Daily Duties at Texas Department Of Criminal Justice:

Responsible for the safety and security of inmates and staff. Regulated movements within the facility and in common areas. Routinely responsible for inmate accountability and secured areas.. Entry control specialist charged with search and seizure of visitors for contraband and proper credentials. Supervised random drug and weapon search and seizures of inmate’s quarters and work areas. Supervised and provided security of inmates performing technical skills duties such as construction, maintenance, laundry, and food service in varied industrial and agricultural operations. Crisis response team member responsible the extraction of unruly inmates in violent situations; responsibilities included medical first aid, and the use of force and deadly force.
