Gerdau Work Values

Daily Duties at Gerdau:

Responsible for using LEAN management techniques to obtain the appropriate samples for each heat; check ID, length, chamfer, diameter and surface of the PCF lines as well as collect samples from the three heat treat furnaces to prep for MPI and/or perform hardness tests along with the rolled samples. Consistently demonstrated a clear understanding of the Rolling Mill and the PFL equipment, job functions and reasons for the timing of covering heats of steel for the slow cooling process. Directed the covering and uncovering of heats in a timely manner. Showed the ability to add or delete routing steps on the plant computer as well as put heats on hold or release them when appropriate. Experienced in coordinating conditioning and grade verification and posting heats through to the next process in the order. Capable of performing product inspection, track and justify bar count issues, and have the ability to resolve non conformities of the product. Qualified in the East Mill, West Mill, Back Lab and had partial training/exposure to the Front Lab position before the promotion.
