Daily Duties at Gerdau:
Supervise routine processes and activities within the PFL Cell of 19 employees by focusing on LEAN manufacturing principles to guarantee Safety, Cost, Productivity, Environment, Delivery and Quality routine results achievement. Revise and update standards; Coordinate and provide training on standards development. Audit standards (RP, Job Aids, etc.) and treat problems found through analysis, treat and establish countermeasures for failures. Establish and negotiate Cell goals and manage Action Plans for Cell. Include the GBS Processes/Tools in the day-to-day work. Identify opportunities for improvement and engage operators to solve problems using QIS, Kaizen Events, Ideas, etc. Practice positive reinforcement, motivate and empower operators and multipliers. Communicate, recognize and provide feedback as well as conduct Performance Evaluations with the operators. Key achievements-reduced bar count discrepancies from 13/month in 2012 to 2/month in 2015.
