Daily Duties at University Of Mississippi Medical Center:

Lead UMMC Enterprise Data Warehouse development efforts to provide managers with tools to identify and resolve issues. Interact with Management, (Database, Report, and Software) Developers, Business Analysts, Stakeholders, and End-Users. Contribute to a collaborative atmosphere and strong team environment within Division of Information Systems, Business Intelligence, and Performance Management, as well as function as an effective liaison between those areas and the clinical departments at University Physicians and University of Mississippi Health Care with the inpatient and ambulatory settings.  Provide technical expertise for product line development, labor productivity, operations and capital budgeting, utilization management, reimbursement analysis, and project management.  Interact with Eclipsys Sunrise EPSi consulting services, UMMC Division of Information Systems, UMMC Management staff, Decision Support Staff, and Departmental Mangers, to implement EPSi Budgeting, Costing, and Product Line Analysis modules.  Develop data-based conclusions by researching and analyzing data using SQL and flavors of SQL, including Transact-SQL to manage the strategic direction of the $2.4 billion dollar health system.  Effectively responded to RFI’s from local and regional area management on an “ad hoc” basis; used SQL to identify the relational database structure; identified opportunities for financial operational improvement.  Developed targets and benchmark data to drive initiatives of product lines and service costs for system profitability.  Implemented the development of RVU’s in Allscripts. Prepared documentation and reports. Obtained Departmental sign off on all direct costs. Obtained Finance sign off on Overhead Allocations. Responsible for costing account setup and management of Overhead, Labor, Cost Type, and Cost Categories.
