Daily Duties at Countrywide Capital Markets:
• Financial reporting responsibilities included complete financial statement preparation including monthly balance sheet, income and cash flow statements, annual audit management/support with PWC. • Controlled and executed month-end general ledger close. Closing balances were supported with monthly GL account reconciliations. • Specialized financial reporting (credit stress tests) for Countrywide’s non-agency mortgage-backed residuals held by Countrywide’s hedge fund, and for the hedge fund management company, and for Countrywide’s futures brokerage subsidiary, including securities accounting for all positions held by those entities. • Monthly hedge fund reporting also included Net Asset Value (NAV) reports and calculations, partner share reporting, and management fee computation • Daily monitoring included handling accounting issues and Eurodollar futures tracking for the hedge fund • Supported special project monitoring of Countrywide Capital’s collateral collection and balancing for issuance of Alpha Mezz. CDO 2007-1, a synthetic CDO referencing mortgage-backed securities under an imbedded credit default swap. • Prepared Countrywide’s acquisition analysis and valuation of a CME floor trader/futures clearing broker. Also prepared the purchase price allocation and goodwill premium on Countrywide’s books for the acquired futures broker
