Daily Duties at Telos Corporation:
Satellite Communications Branch (May 1997 – Feb 2000) NATO Airbase Satellite Communications (NABS) System: - Developed user interfaces in C and X-Windows / Motif. - Programmed Graphical User Interface to process communications options. - Programmed system to save user choices from GUI windows in a database. - Programmed Motif widget set callbacks. - Designed and developed losing focus callbacks to process user requests and in focus callbacks to handle range checking and error checking functionality. - Programmed gaining focus callbacks to process initial database opening and preparation, to ensure that the database pointers are in their proper place with respect to which one the operator has requested access to in the window that they have opened. - Programmed gaining focus callbacks to process attempted illegal entry into certain text fields and other widgets by setting those widgets to be not sensitive. - Programmed information deals with parameters for Satellite Communications: Terminal type database, Geographic location database, Satellite identifier database, Send antenna, receives antenna identifiers, number of transponders/channels, Uplink/Downlink/Center frequency for satellite communications, Power level for satellite communications, Narrow beam / wide beam. - Hardware: VAX 3100 and Alpha computers, Open VMS operating system, VAX RMS database. - Software: X-Windows with Motif GUI system, C language. Command and Control Software Engineering Branch (July 1995 - May 1997) Maneuver Control System, Block III - Tested a messaging system for Maneuver Control System, Block III. Messaging system had various parts, parsing the message, communications, Database updates, and user interfaces. - Supported formal Army testing at Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Monmouth, New Jersey for preliminary Initial Operational Test & Evaluation (IOT&E). - Hardware: SunSPARC 20 computer. - Software: Solaris UNIX operating system, Informix relational database, X-Windows / Motif GUI system, DCE communications.
