Daily Duties at Perspecta (Previously Dxc Technologies; Hpe):

• Primary role is upgrading existing SQL Server 2000 databases to SQL Server 2012 using integration of SQL 2008 for the transformation between servers. • ETL processes in migration of DTS packages to SSIS packages incorporating ftp transfer and file manipulation with flat files and 64bit Microsoft Office files (Excel and Access). Checking of existing files in a package using functions and archival of data files to minimize failed packages. • Incorporate Integration Services Catalogs for the deployment of the packages. • Lead on Team Foundation Server (TFS) as the code repository of files used in development. • Second primary role is the lead BI developer with the financial billing system and operations to the contracted organization using SSRS; converting of Access and Crystal Reports to SSRS. • Data warehouse developer creating fact and dimension tables (Star Schema) as a precursor to the development of SSAS cubes. • BI development of SSRS reports with fact and dimension table; and incorporating SSAS cubes for the development of Excel pivot tables and data analysis. • SQL Server mentor directing the development of upgrading a SQL Server database from 2000 to 2012. • Documentation expert on all aspects of data manipulation, business rules and training documentation. • Data transferred using SFTP/FTP using code on existing servers and some AutoSys experience and the continued replications of Enterprise solutions into SQL Server database management systems.
