Daily Duties at M&I Bank:

Support M&I’s payment services division that was responsible for all ACH transactions as well as mergers and acquisitions for a 10,000-seat bank. My primary responsibilities consisted of planning, creating, designing and porting solutions for old applications from acquired banks to our systems while maintaining a high degree of IT security. Additionally, supporting all operational functions within our EMC, VMWare and blade server environments located inside one of Milwaukee’s largest datacenters. I supervised our team of up to 10 employees, including vendors and contractors, as well as worked directly with 6 Vice Presidents and 28 programmers as a Technical Project Manager. • Design, support and manage enterprise solutions for multiple departments in a 10,000-seat commercial retail banking institution. • Work as a direct extension to the security team, payment services senior management and the FIS Datacenter to develop policies to protect the bank’s payment services division. Including creating, testing and implementing BCP strategies on a semi-annual basis. • Created a file transfer system using PGP encryption for our expansive and diverse customer base. • Assisted in bringing an SSO system online for the corporation. • Was directly responsible for designing a new corporate Database BCP. Based on my design we dropped from 325 SQL servers to 4 with redundant process that was planned, tested semi-annually and proven solid. Ultimately, saving the company over 2.5M. • Created an ETL system from many data sources to an SQL ETL server cluster, then offloaded to a Netezza appliance. • Responsible for Technical Project Management and technical support for the Vice Presidents and programmers. • A weekly average of 4 to 6 projects involving an average of 3 Vice Presidents with 4 to 6 programmers impacting 1,000’s of internal and external customers.
