Daily Duties at Southern Industrial Constructors An Emcor Company:
• Develop and implement HR Strategies, programs, and practices, including: staffing, training and development, compensation, rewards/recognition/motivation, employee relations, legal compliance, and safety. • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource and safety functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in strict compliance. • Coordinate and/or conduct management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment prevention, etc. • Advise and actively participate with management in appropriate resolution of employment related issues • Administer benefit programs such as life, health, and disability insurances, COBRA, 401(k) plans, stock purchase plan, vacation, sick leave, and leave of absence. • Oversee the recruitment process, which includes ad placement, interviews, I-9s, drug testing, reference checks, and final selection of employees to fill vacant positions • Lead an eight-person team, comprised of Field Safety Professionals, HR Coordinator, and Trainer. • Perform occupational safety and health risk assessments, conduct incident investigations and safety inspections, provide follow-up training, and conduct audits. • Represent Southern Industrial by serving as a Board Member of the Mid Atlantic Safety Council, and Southeast NC Star /VPP Safety Team. • Assisted in the development and delivery of many training programs. • Conduct new hire orientations.
