Daily Duties at Columbia Fire Protection District:

Actively involved in the proper induction and hiring process of personnel and evaluated work performance. Handled day-to-day functions and monitored and implemented activities; assured financial functions and services were performed within the budget. Overall ensured all functions were completed effectively and in a well thought out manner. a. Conducted interviews with prospective personnel, involved in the selection process, and provided ongoing supervision of subordinate personnel. b. Performed cost control activities including the monitoring of revenues and expenditures. c. Prepared the annual budget requests at the direction of the Board of Directors and assured effective and efficient use of all resources. d. Working Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations, the state fire codes, and the codes that are set be the National Fire Protection Association. e. Prepared curriculum and taught classes and trainings to staff and the county’s fire academy.
