Daily Duties at Electronic Data Systems:
Provided database maintenance, database performance monitoring, database upgrading and patching, and daily backup and restore support for more than 26 applications, 30 clusters, 100 servers, and more than 110 databases, using Oracle 8.05, 8.1.7.4, 9i and 10g. 8 of these environment where running Oracle data guard. Provide disaster recover support, and procedures. Provide database tuning for BellSouth applications. Provide database maintenance, database monitor, and support service for 24 100 gigabyte databases running on OpenVMS systems. Developed procedure for database tuning, tables and storage area maintenance to provide overall database performance. Developed procedure to maintenance performance of ACMS front end to CMIS cellular billing package. As a database administrator have developed procedures to stream line the database maintenance procedures, improve performance, and standardize the maintenance functions. Developed procedure for conversion of data from new markets for insertion into the current databases, using intermediate conversion databases. Developed procedure for testing the upgrading of Oracle RDB database software. Tested database upgrades in development environment prior to putting them into production. Provide on call support for Oracle RDB database and ACMS products. Assisted with the Mobile track conversion of 6 major markets from IBM operating system to CMIS application running of OpenVMS. Assisted with the migration of Winfour data from multi-market database to a stand alone database to support a single market.
