Daily Duties at Belton Isd:
Manage the highly skilled technology team of three district computer technicians, one database administrator, one network technician, and one systems administrator. Assist with managing, training, and leading 14 other campus technicians. Network with hardware and software producers and suppliers to find solutions in the educational and business environments to maintain and advance the technology infrastructure. Recommend for employment, develop, and supervise technology personnel to ensure that individual talents are fully utilized to the mutual benefit of the district and that individual. Oversee the information management system (IMS) of the district and assume responsibility for ensuring that necessary and desired information and reports on a timely basis. Develop and manage the department budget and ensure that information regarding the financial considerations of educational technologies is available to other district staff as needed. Responsible for personal and professional growth in leadership and technology and promotes staff development and training of educational technologies throughout the district. Communicate the district technology plan to community groups, as appropriate and serve as a liaison to other community agencies and organizations to facilitate a collaborative effort in the maximum utilization of current educational technologies Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
